Art Club
Who: 5th Grade

The Art Club will work on art projects, learn about various artists, and hear guest speakers who come to discuss and demonstrate different art forms and media. There may also be opportunities to enter student work in community art contests.
Book Club
Who: 3rd, 4th & 5th grade
When: every other Tuesday, 4:00pm
Sponsor: Mrs. Patton
Do you love books? In Book Club we will share and discuss books that we are reading. As a group, we will choose a book, meet to discuss the book, and complete an activity about the book.
Requirements: The only requirement is that you read the book before coming to Book Club. The book can be read alone, with a friend, sibling, or parent.
*We will choose a book and go over guidelines at our first meeting.
Chess Club
Who: 3rd, 4th, & 5th grade
When: Every other Monday, 7:45 am
Sponsor: Mr. Houston
Chess Club members will learn the fundamentals of chess, such as the name of each piece and how it moves. Then, students will learn basic strategy while playing their peers or a computer opponent. The goal of chess club will be to cultivate patience, problem-solving skills, and proactive planning in a fun and engaging manner.
Choir Club
Who: 3rd, 4th & 5th grade
When: Thursday, 7:45 am
Sponsor: Mr. Israel
Choir members will work on developing proper singing techniques. The Choir participates in one major concert a year as well as other activities and performances throughout the year, including singing the National Anthem at Busch Stadium! Attendance at all rehearsals and performances is required.
Computer Club
Who: 3rd, 4th & 5th grade
When: Monday, 4:00 pm
Sponsor: Mrs. Hoormann
Computer Club members will learn to use a variety of programs and applications within Google, while using their student login accounts. Students will practice keyboarding and learn to use the internet. Students must have parent permission on file in the office to use the Internet.
Dance Club
Who: 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade
When: Friday, 7:45 am
Sponsor: Mrs. Ebner and Mrs. Snee
Do you like to dance? If so, the LCE Dance club is perfect for you!! We will learn different dance techniques (jumps, turns, arm motions, teamwork and sportsmanship) and how to stretch. In addition, we will learn a variety of choreography. We will be performing at different events at LCE to show off our hard work and awesome dance moves!
Drama Club
Who: 4th & 5th grade
When: Monday, 4:00-5:10 pm
Sponsor: Mrs. Seablom and Ms. Mennemeyer
Drama Club members will be given the opportunity to perform on stage, assist in performances behind the scenes, and/or help with set development. Drama Club’s purpose is to prepare and present a play in the evening for parents in the Spring at East High School Auditorium. This year the performance will be on Thursday, April 16th with rehearsal the day prior. Students should be involved in all practices, dress rehearsals and the final performance. Club will meet once a week until near performance, when students may be asked to come in another day and/or stay later for dress rehearsals and the final performance. If students do not want to perform, they will assist in stage set up. Attendance at all rehearsals and the performance is required. Please note that there are some supplies and a costume each child will need to have. Students will be expected to practice lines, volume of voice, and acting at home in addition to this club. Parent volunteers are encouraged. Students will have to submit an application for review before acceptance. Club is limited to 25 students.
Earth Club
Who: 3rd, 4th, & 5th grade
When: Wednesday, 4:00-5:00pm, three times per month
Sponsors: Mrs. Norman
Earth Club members will will discuss and implement ways to improve the environment and encourage others to conserve, reuse and recycle. Students will be actively involved in helping clean up the school grounds, recycling projects, planting trees and bushes and upkeep of the outdoor classroom.
Fiber Club (Crochet)
Who: 3rd, 4th, & 5th grade
When: Every other Tuesday, 7:45am
Sponsor: Mrs. Bethmann (Ms. Mallinak)
In fiber club students will create projects and socialize with others while learning a new hobby. They will be putting their creativity to use by learning the basics of crocheting and knitting. Students will learn how to read and follow simple patterns and create projects for personal use, gifts, or even donations.
Math Club
Who: 4th & 5th grade
When: Twice per month on Wednesday, 4:00-5:00 pm

The Math Club members work on advanced math problems and projects that help prepare them for future challenging mathematics problems and classes.
Media Production Club
Who: 3rd, 4th, & 5th grade
When: Tuesdays, 7:45 am
Sponsor: Mrs. Durrell
In Media Production Club, students will create video productions and podcasts that promote school activities, deliver current news, share weekly school announcements, and celebrate student/school achievements. We will research current events, interview staff and students about activities occurring at LCE, and use technology to create and record productions. We will share our video creations throughout the school-year on a weekly basis. Because of the time needed to plan and create these productions, members of the club must be responsible, hard-working, and dedicated.
P.E. Club #1
Who: 5th grade
When: Friday, 7:45 am

P.E. Club #1 will focus on teaching students lifelong fitness and sportsmanship, as well as give students an opportunity to help create and modify games for PE class. Each club day, students will participate in a quick team meeting to discuss various topics in sports/health, perform various exercises and finally play a game chosen by the students. This club is for 5th grade students only.

Recorder Club
Who: 4th & 5th grade

The students in this group will learn the proper playing techniques for the recorder. There will be several performances throughout the school year, including the Winter Sing-along and the Lewis and Clark Fine Arts Fair. Attendance to all rehearsals and performances is required. Students are responsible for purchasing and bringing a recorder and music folder to every rehearsal.
Safety Patrol
Who: 5th Grade
When: Monday twice a month, 7:45 am
Sponsors: Mr. Haley and Ms. Smith
Students who are interested in Safety Patrol will need to fill out an application. Selection will be based on the application and teacher evaluation of good citizenship and responsibility. Students will attend a meeting every other week and discuss various safety topics. Safety Patrol members are assigned to a post throughout the school to monitor students in the halls upon arrival and at dismissal.
Science Club
Who: 3rd, 4th, & 5th grade

Participants meet to engage in hands-on activities using areas of science. The club will expand on the science curriculum and help students to understand and apply scientific concepts and how they relate to the world around them.
Scrapbooking Club
Who: 3rd, 4th, & 5th grade
When: Monday, 7:45 am
Sponsor: Mrs. Arnold
Students in Scrapbooking Club will learn to use tools and materials strategically and creatively to create specific pages as well as their own scrapbook. They will use a variety of techniques to design, cut, and organize their ideas for their projects. Students in this club will need to bring in some supplies on their own such as pictures and their own scrapbook.
S.H.A.R.E. Club
Who: 3rd, 4th, & 5th grade
When: every other Tuesday, 7:45 am
Sponsor: Mrs. Arnold
S.H.A.R.E. Club stands for Sharing, Helping and Respecting Everyone. S.H.A.R.E. is designed to assist families and patrons in the school community. Activities may include raking leaves, improving school grounds, planting flowers, making and collecting items for hospitals and senior citizens and sending items to military personnel. Parents are responsible for picking their student up on time.
Spanish Club
Who: 3rd, 4th, & 5th grade
When: every other Thursday, 4:00 pm

Spanish Club is an introduction to Spanish cultures as well as the Spanish language. Students learn things such as the alphabet, numbers, greetings, parts of the body, and days of the week. They will study families and cultural aspects.
Student Senate (Nomination Required)
Who: 3rd, 4th, & 5th grade (please discuss with classroom teacher if interested)
When: One Tuesday a month, 7:45 am

One student per class in each grade level is chosen to serve as a Student Senate member. Student Senate members plan and implement school spirit and community projects and run our school store. Members serve as hosts for new students and participate in events throughout the year. The student representatives must attend meetings, demonstrate a positive attitude, be a good role model, and report back to their classmates.
TSA- Robotics
Who: 3rd, 4th, & 5th grade
When: Thursday, 4:00 pm
Sponsor: Mr. Reidenbach
In TSA, students will work in small groups to complete challenge missions using LEGO robotics technology. The students will get experience using computer programming and building the robots that the computer code will run. There will be two sessions this year for TSA, a Fall session and a Spring session.
Wee Deliver Literacy Program
Who: 3rd, 4th, & 5th grade
When: Every other Wednesday, 7:45 am
Sponsor: Mr. Houston
The purpose of Wee Deliver is to encourage letter writing, using the mail system, and properly addressing an envelope. The Postal Team will be responsible for picking up the mail, sorting it by towns and delivering mail.
Yearbook Club
Who: 5th grade
When: Every other Wednesday, 7:45am
Sponsor: Mrs. Snee
Students will create the yearbook for the current year. Students will utilize the online yearbook program to write captions, create memory pages, edit, and help with the layout of the school yearbook.
