#LCE60 Planning Meeting: Our next planning meeting for the 60th anniversary celebration (October 17 - Save the Date!!!) will be Tuesday at 6:30 pm. ALL staff and families are invited!
5th Grade Camp: Our annual 5th Grade Camp is this week! Wednesday-Friday, students will be participating in a variety of outdoor activities, such as geocaching, archery, survival, art, and much more. This is a “nearly” rain or shine event so send your 5th grader with clothes, water bottles, and sunblock appropriate for the weather!
Early Release Day: October 7 is an Early Release Day! We’ll have our first Leadership Den meetings, an assembly, and will dismiss at 1:30pm!

Fort Zumwalt’s Elementary Schools are excited to continue their partnership with Fort Zumwalt’s Education Foundation in support of the Grow Your Own Teacher Foundation.
We ask you, the parents/caregivers, to join us in encouraging our students to be active, promote reading and practice being a good friend to all.
Students will be asked to read 26 developmentally appropriate books (30 pages = 1 book, if reading chapter books), complete 26 good deeds/acts of service and run 25 miles individually and then complete their final 1.2 miles on race day, tentatively Saturday, April 24, 2027.
This will add up to a full marathon distance of 26.2 miles.
The program starts in October 2026 and runs through race day on (tentatively) April 24, 2027.
As Better Together Marathon participants, your child(ren) will:
Have a Better Together coordinator at his/her school- Ms. Chapie
Receive a journal to record each book, good deed and mile
Participate in a 1.2 mile fun run scheduled at Fort Zumwalt North High School tentatively on Saturday, April 24, 2027
Every Better Together participant will receive a t-shirt to wear on race day
Every Better Together participant will receive a medal after they cross the finish line on race day on April 24th
There is a $15 fee for your child to register as a participant that has to be paid either via FOCUS or by Check.
