Did you know that October is National Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) Awareness Month? It is!

What is AAC, you may ask? AAC tools allow students and individuals with disabilities that impact their communication to access school and the world at large. AAC can be high-tech, including tablets or electronic speech generation devices; or low-tech, such as visual schedules, picture exchange systems, cards, or communication books and boards.

We have a number of Trailblazers and Panther Cubs who utilize high and low tech AAC throughout their daily routine, and when used effectively, this allows for a higher degree of communication for all members of our community. More importantly, AAC allows all individuals to use Habit 8: Find Your Voice, and Inspire Others to do the Same!

Attached is an informational flyer with more info about this incredible tool!
