We are looking forward to another great week at LCE! We will be at the mercy of mother nature, it would appear, so click the attached link to see our district’s AMI procedures.
Educator and Employee of the Year: A huge Trailblazer celebration to Rachel Mizera (ELD Specialist) and Westi Smith (Copy Clerk) for being honored as our 2025-26 Educator and Employee of the Year! These talented Trailblazers were selected by their peers for this amazing honor. Both are invaluable members of our team, and truly live our mission of Empowering Learners, Building Leaders - Every Day, for EVERY Trailblazer!
DARE Graduation and Spaghetti Dinner: Our DARE Graduation is being rescheduled, due to the weather this week. When we have a new date/time, we will share it!
Great Skate Night: Our 3rd Great Skate Night of the year, scheduled for Tuesday, January 27, will be cancelled and rescheduled as well. When we have a new date/time, we will share it!
Drills: We have 2 drills scheduled for this week. We have an intruder drill on Friday, and a fire drill on Wednesday (weather permitting). During an intruder drill, students practice sheltering in place and we test door locks. The goal is to ensure our basic safety systems can be done quickly and safely in the event of an unwelcome intruder to our building. We value safety and have many processes in place to ensure this does not happen, but we also must be proactive when student safety is involved.
During a fire drill, we evacuate the building to designated locations, take roll to ensure all are accounted for, and reenter the building when we have verified all students are out of the building and present.
